Scope and Objectives
The Kaizen Company is seeking an Organizational Development Specialist (ODS) for an upcoming USAID-funded project focused on the Organizational Development of USAID/Uganda. The project seeks to support in building the existing “Mission of Leaders” activity and fortify USAID’s performance in implementing its 2017 to 2021 Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS) in an adaptive, iterative manner.
The Organizational Development Specialist (ODS) will support USAID/Uganda’s organizational development efforts. This will include but not limited to: Working with the COP and other Contractor team members to design and facilitate thereafter, a participatory process in which the Mission will develop, manage and monitor a strategic plan for organizational development; developing and executing/overseeing the delivery of organizational change management support processes relevant to the achievement of the Mission’s strategic plan and implementing the CDCS; Providing and/or arranging for, individual and group coaching to help Mission staff improve organizational performance which will include strengthening skills required for the new ways of doing business that are emerging as the implementation of the CDCS progresses; designing and facilitating participatory processes in which Mission teams and expanded teams (including IPs and other stakeholders) assess, develop and/or learn about new and/or improved programmatic and operational approaches and processes, etc.; Conducting and/or arranging for the conduct of analyses, surveys, direct stakeholder engagement, and other learning exercises to gauge readiness for organizational changes, acceptance of organizational change, gaps in performance, and so forth; seeking and taking advantage of opportunities to strengthen USAID/Uganda’s in-house and Uganda-in-general’s capacity to undertake organizational development efforts; facilitating the Mission’s knowledge and understanding of cutting edge organizational development research so that staff are making informed choices in deciding on approaches, strategies, etc.
