Innovation and Entrepreneurship Specialist– Uganda

The Kaizen Company seeks an Innovation and Entrepreneurship Specialist for an upcoming long-term position in Uganda. S/he would participate in the design and implementation of innovation and development models supporting agriculture and nutrition services across Uganda. S/he will support innovation centers in a manner that accelerates Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting (CLA) strategic objectives, identifies and pilots breakthrough solutions to increase economic opportunities for poor households, to improve nutrition with a focus on women and children, and strengthen community and local governance.


The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Specialist shall have as many as possible of the following experience and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in public health, business administration, entrepreneurship, health and human services, medicine, or related
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience.
  • Experience in innovation, entrepreneurship, and strategic planning and management of health and/or agriculture systems that serve vulnerable groups
  • Background in incubation: piloting, testing, measuring effectiveness, and scaling new and innovative business models in the development context
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience in capacity building across stakeholders in the private and public sector
  • Experience working in the health sector, ideally related to agriculture initiatives
  • Uganda based national required
  • English working fluency required

Preferred Experience:

  • Master’s degree or higher in public health, health and human services, medicine, business administration, or Entrepreneurship
  • Previous experience working with USAID Agriculture and Nutrition initiatives
  • Experience in (ideally impact) investing and/or investment portfolio management
