Scope and Objectives

The Kaizen Company is seeking a Local Education Specialist for an upcoming USAID-funded project focused on the Performance Evaluation of Education Activities of USAID/Morocco. The project seeks to evaluate several active awards, the USAID/Morocco Project Appraisal Document (PAD), and how these initiatives support the Development Objectives of USAID/Morocco. Anticipated to begin June 2018.


  • Provide technical expertise on the education sector in Morocco to inform the performance evaluation of early grade reading and literacy programs
  • Ensure that data collection methodologies are inclusive of multilingual and disability populations and gender
  • Assist evaluation team to ensure monitoring and evaluating systems appropriately measure progress against education-specific outputs and results
  • Oversee consistent and systematic tracking and reporting of all research
  • Draft and review key technical documents and reports as related to education interventions and practice
  • Propose strategies to increase project/program impact in early childhood education



  • Master's degree in Education or relevant field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in education, teacher training, and literacy related programs
  • Specialized knowledge in relevant areas including curriculum development, examinations, Arabic language reading instruction, and textbooks
  • Fluency in French and Moroccan Arabic required; working proficiency in English required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Advanced interpersonal skills and ability to effectively work with multiple stakeholders (government officials, civil society partners, and donors)
  • Familiarity with USAID
