Newsletter Design Consultant
SCOPE OF WORK – DELIVERY OF NEWSLETTER DESIGN SERVICES
1.0 BACKGROUND AND INTRODUCTION
Organization Development Activity (ODA) for USAID/Ethiopia and USAID/Djibouti objectives are to: (1) renew a common and omnipresent organizational ethos that effectively guides individual and team behaviors to support broad-based Mission goals and objectives; (2) facilitate the planning, implementation, and institutionalization of appropriate Mission technology, systems and structures in relation to Mission challenges and context; and (3) improve the identified hard and soft skills that enhance the Mission’s ability to achieve its goals and objectives.
ODA delivers a quarterly newsletter to Mission staff focused on organizational development resources, upcoming activities, and accomplishments from the previous quarter. ODA is looking for a design consultant familiar with USAID’s style to format the content of the newsletter.
Purpose and aim of this SOW is to provide design services for the quarterly newsletter. The design consultant will create a newsletter that is engaging and accessible, while working within USAID requirements on design/style. The design of the quarterly newsletter should contribute to an overall branding of the newsletter that will be present throughout each quarter’s issue. This task requires strong design skills, creative thinking to work within USAID-approved systems, and a quick turnaround.
3.0 EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
The newsletter design process will start with a meeting between the design consultant and the relevant stakeholders to discuss the vision for this quarter’s newsletter, review successes/challenges from previous quarters, and to discuss a timeline. The design consultant will then mockup a newsletter design for feedback from stakeholders. Once the content is finalized, the design consultant will create a new draft for feedback, and then finalize the newsletter.
To deliver strong design services, the STTA must meet the following criteria:
- Portfolio of design work tailored to the digital format.
- Experience designing digital newsletters.
- Experience working within existing branding to design a new product (the newsletter).
- Experience working with USG/USAID is preferred.
- Location: remote.
