Scope and Objectives

The Kaizen Company is seeking a Local Education Specialist/Research Assistant for an upcoming USAID-funded project focused on the Project Appraisal Document (PAD) Evaluation in Morocco. The project seeks to conduct a performance evaluation of USAID/Morocco’s education sector, assessment of several active awards, and how these support the Development Objectives of USAID/Morocco. Anticipated to begin June 2018.


  • Support the Principal Investigator to perform a variety of tasks including, but not limited to cleaning and analyzing data
  • Provide support to field-based evaluation work, data analysis and interpretation
  • Assist in the dissemination of reports by supporting the writing of analytical reports and journal articles 
  • Provide technical expertise on the education sector in Morocco to inform the performance evaluation of early grade reading and literacy programs
  • Ensure that data collection methodologies are inclusive of multilingual and disability populations and gender
  • Assist evaluation team to ensure monitoring and evaluating systems appropriately measure progress against education-specific outputs and results
  • Oversee consistent and systematic tracking and reporting of all research
  • Draft and review key technical documents and reports as related to education interventions and practice
  • Propose strategies to increase project/program impact in early childhood education



  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in sociology, anthropology, education, or related field with relevant experience in ethnographic research, Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3 or more years of experience working in development, preferably education or another social sector, preferably conducting qualitative research.
  • Experience conducting site visits, key informant interviews, focus group discussions.
  • Knowledge of qualitative data analysis software such as NVivo or ATLAS.ti.
  • Strong qualitative, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Fluency in French in addition to English, preferred


  • Experience in the education sector in Morocco
  • Experience in MENA region
